What is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?
The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is a midsize, crew-cab pickup truck available in six trim levels (WT, Custom, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2) with a single 5-foot short bed and a choice of two-wheel or four-wheel drive (4WD only on Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2). It competes directly with the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Jeep Gladiator, Honda Ridgeline, and the related GMC Canyon — see how it compares.
For 2026, the Colorado is powered exclusively by the 2.7L TurboMax inline-four — 310 HP and class-best 430 lb-ft of standard torque across every trim, paired with an 8-speed automatic. The ZR2 is the halo off-road flagship: Multimatic DSSV dampers, a 3-inch factory lift, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, and front and rear electronic locking differentials. Towing tops out at 7,700 lbs when properly equipped, and maximum payload is 1,710 lbs on the WT and LT.
Whether you are a tradesperson shopping for a dependable WT, a daily-driver who wants the added tech and comfort of the LT, or an off-roader eyeing the ZR2 flagship, the Colorado lineup has a configuration that fits. Browse our current inventory or schedule a test drive at Marty's Chevrolet in Bourne, MA.

WT
2.7L TurboMax with 310 HP and 430 lb-ft standard, 17-inch Ultra Silver Metallic wheels, 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, Chevy Safety Assist, and a 5-foot bed with up to 17 tie-downs. A dedicated worker.
Custom
WT mechanicals with a sharper look: 18-inch High Gloss Black aluminum wheels on all-season tires, blacked-out badges, and the same 310-HP TurboMax. Style and value combined for just $1,145 over the WT.
LT
17-inch Argent Metallic wheels, EZ Lift tailgate with built-in StowFlex storage, remote start with Keyless Open & Start, and available wireless phone charging. Capable meets comfortable.
Trail Boss
18-inch wheels on 32-inch all-terrain tires, 2-inch factory-installed lift, four selectable drive modes with off-road performance display, two-speed auto transfer case, and transfer case shield.
Z71
18-inch wheels on 32-inch all-terrain tires, Jet Black interior with Adrenaline Red accents, LED headlamps/taillamps/fog lamps, and four selectable drive modes. Off-road ready, daily-driver refined.
ZR2
Multimatic DSSV dampers, 3-inch factory-installed lift with high-performance suspension, 17-inch wheels on 33-inch mud-terrain tires, five selectable drive modes (including Baja), and two-speed transfer case.
One engine. No compromises.
Every 2026 Colorado — from the Work Truck to the ZR2 flagship — is powered by the 2.7L TurboMax inline-four with 310 HP and class-leading 430 lb-ft of standard torque. No trim penalty on the base. No tax on the top.
2.7L TurboMax
Standard across every trim. The high-output variant of GM’s 2.7L turbo four makes 310 horsepower and a class-best 430 lb-ft of torque — more than most V6 competitors. Tows up to 7,700 lbs properly equipped and still manages up to 21 MPG combined in 2WD.
Not sure which Colorado is right for you?
Three questions. We'll match you to a trim, engine, and configuration — based on how you actually drive. No email required.
Built to tow, haul, and climb.
Up to 7,700 lbs of max towing properly equipped, 1,710 lbs of max payload on WT and LT, and an available Advanced Trailering Package with integrated hitch guidance, trailer brake controller, and trailer sway control.
The 5-foot Durabed short bed offers 41.9 cubic feet of usable volume, 44.4 inches between the wheelhouses (wide enough for 4-foot material on edge), and 20.9 inches of side height. Standard CornerStep rear bumper, available EZ-Lift tailgate, and available bed-storage boxes turn the Colorado into a real work truck — or a real weekend truck, your call.
One 5-foot bed. Three ways to use it.
Every Colorado comes with a 5-foot Durabed: 61.7” long at the floor, 44.4” between the wheelhouses, 20.9” tall sides, and 41.9 cu-ft of total volume. Drop the tailgate and you can stretch cargo even longer. Here is what fits in real life.
Bikes, Boards, Gear
44.4” between the wheelhouses fits two mountain bikes side-by-side, a pair of SUPs, or a full kayak with the tailgate down. Optional bed-mounted crossbars make it easier.
Tools, Totes, Tailgate Down
41.9 cubic feet of bed volume holds a full-size tool chest, a stack of totes, and a ladder with the tailgate down. Keeping it put is easy with up to 17 available tie-downs, a 500-lb mid-position tailgate, built-in tailgate measurement tool, cargo bed lighting, and an available 120-volt power outlet for running tools straight from the bed.
Errands, Lumber, Haulers
Up to 1,710 lbs of payload on WT and LT 2WD. Standard CornerStep rear bumper makes climbing in easy, and the available EZ-Lift tailgate drops effortlessly with one hand. Hardware store runs, Costco hauls, moving day — handled.
Official bed dimensions and capacities per Chevrolet. Max payload varies by trim and drivetrain.
Six trims. One perfect fit.
From the bare-bones WT to the factory-rock-crawler ZR2, every Colorado shares the same 310-HP TurboMax engine and 5-foot bed — the differences are about styling, interior kit, and off-road hardware. Click through to see what each trim brings.
New for 2026.
The final year of the current generation brings targeted additions before the 2027 redesign arrives.
Effectively a Carryover from 2025
Good news if you know the truck already: the 2026 Colorado is functionally a carryover. Same proven 310-HP TurboMax, same six trims (WT, Custom, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2), same capability numbers. Changes are cosmetic so you get a known-quantity truck.
New Color: White Sands
White Sands (a warm beige tone) replaces the outgoing Harvest Bronze Metallic. Joining the broader palette are Sterling Gray, Glacier Blue, Sand Dune, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Riptide Blue Metallic, Summit White, and Black.
Two Refreshed 20-Inch Wheel Designs
The Z71 and RST-style wheel packages get mild visual updates for 2026. If you are coming from a 2024 or earlier Colorado, every wheel in the lineup feels modern; the 2026 ones are sharper still.
ZR2 Still the Class Benchmark
Multimatic DSSV dampers, front AND rear electronic locking differentials, 33-inch mud-terrains, and a 3-inch factory lift. No competitor — not Tacoma TRD Pro, not Ranger Raptor — offers front lockers from the factory.
Factory-signed. Individually allocated.
Colorado special editions take a base trim and add distinctive styling or capability. Allocation is tight and most sell out before the next model year arrives. If you are thinking about one, start the conversation early.
ZR2 Bison (AEV)
The most capable factory Colorado ever built. Co-developed with AEV — boron-steel front and rear bumpers with integrated recovery points, high-clearance skid plates, 35-inch mud-terrain tires, and AEV-specific 17-inch wheels. Halo allocation, very limited.
Advanced Trailering Package
Integrated trailer brake controller, hitch guidance with hitch view camera, trailer sway control, upgraded cooling, and Trailering app integration in the 11.3-inch touchscreen. Unlocks the Colorado's 7,700-lb max tow rating.
Z71 Technology Package
Adds HD Surround Vision, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Pedestrian Alert, and a larger Head-Up-style driver display. Pairs nicely with the Z71's heated leather seats and Bose audio.
Trail Boss American Edition
A 2026-only Trail Boss treatment celebrating the country's 250th anniversary: unique hood and bed graphics with flag accents, special badging on the B-pillar, and matching interior trim. Limited build, early conversation recommended.
Bed Safe & Storage Boxes
Lockable in-bed storage boxes that tuck into the wheelhouses — perfect for tools, coolers, or anything you don't want visible. Low-profile design keeps the bed floor clear for the usual loads.
Custom Factory Order
None of these hitting right? Build exactly what you want from the factory. We walk you through build-and-price, submit the order, and keep you updated through production. Lock in incentives on order date.
Most editions and packages ship in limited volume. Tell us which one you are after and we will check incoming allocations and get you on the list.
Ask About Incoming Allocations →Colorado vs. Tacoma.
The midsize truck most of our customers cross-shop. Published specs, no cherry-picking. We sell Chevys, but you deserve an honest comparison.
The honest verdict: Tacoma beats us by 35 lb-ft with its hybrid on the top engine. On every other spec that actually matters to midsize-truck shoppers, Colorado wins: 82 more standard horsepower, 187 more lb-ft of standard torque, 1,200 lbs more max tow, front AND rear locking diffs (Tacoma only gets rear), a Corvette-derived damper system on the ZR2, and a ZR2 that costs ~$14,800 less than a TRD Pro. Every Colorado — even the base WT — gets the same high-output TurboMax.

Why should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado instead of the competition?
The 2026 Colorado is the midsize truck that gives you the most performance for the money. Every single trim — even the $32,400 WT — gets the 2.7L TurboMax engine with 310 HP and a class-leading 430 lb-ft of standard torque. That's 82 more horsepower and 187 more lb-ft than the base Toyota Tacoma. Max tow is 7,700 lbs (1,200 more than Tacoma), max payload is 1,710 lbs, and the ZR2 flagship includes Multimatic DSSV dampers plus front AND rear electronic locking differentials — hardware that costs Toyota TRD Pro buyers $14,800 more.
How does the 2026 Colorado compare to the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger?
Honest breakdown: the Tacoma's hybrid i-FORCE MAX makes 35 more lb-ft (465 vs 430) at the top of its lineup, and the Ford Ranger has a slight payload edge at 1,788 lbs (vs Colorado's 1,710). On everything else Colorado wins: 82 more standard HP than Tacoma's base engine, 1,200 more lbs of max tow vs Tacoma, an 11.3-inch standard touchscreen vs 8-inch on Tacoma, and the ZR2's front+rear electronic lockers beat both the Tacoma TRD Pro (rear only) and the Ranger Raptor (rear only). The ZR2 also starts ~$14,800 less than a TRD Pro Hybrid. See the full comparison ›
Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?
Strong track record. The Colorado uses GM's 31XX platform shared with the GMC Canyon, with the 2.7L TurboMax four-cylinder that has been in production since 2019 and is now in its third generation. The current-generation Colorado won MotorTrend's 2024 Truck of the Year (the Golden Calipers) — Colorado's third win in that competition. In the 2025 J.D. Power studies, the Chevrolet Colorado ranked #2 in Vehicle Appeal (APEAL Study) and #3 in Vehicle Dependability in the midsize pickup segment. Every new Colorado comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Our service center is staffed with ASE-certified technicians using full Chevrolet diagnostic equipment.
What are the benefits of leasing versus buying a Colorado?
Leasing a midsize truck works well if you want a new truck every 2-3 years, typically drive under 15,000 miles/year, and want to stay under warranty for the full term. Buying is the move if you put more than 15,000 miles on your truck, tow regularly, plan to keep it for 6+ years, or want to build equity. Note: national lease programs on the 2026 Colorado have not been consistently available in recent months — cash and finance offers have been the stronger path. Our finance team will lay out both options side by side with real numbers for your specific situation.
What deals are currently available on the 2026 Colorado?
Through April 30, 2026, the 2026 Colorado WT, Custom, LT, and Z71 qualify for $1,000 Customer Cash (Trail Boss and ZR2 are excluded). Costco members stack another $1,250 (Executive) or $1,000 (standard) on top — for a total of $2,250 for Costco Executive Members. National manufacturer lease programs on the Colorado have been limited recently; we run custom lease scenarios through GM Financial instead. Additional programs are available for military, first responders, educators, healthcare workers, college grads, and current GM lessees. See all current offers, call 508-417-8675, or stop in so we can build the best deal for your specific trim and situation.
Which 2026 Colorado trim level is the best value?
The LT at $36,000 is the sweet spot for most buyers — you get the 11.3-inch touchscreen, 11-inch digital cluster, EZ Lift tailgate with built-in StowFlex storage, remote start with keyless entry, and available wireless charging, without jumping to off-road money. For work-truck buyers, the WT at $32,400 comes with the same 310-HP TurboMax as the rest of the lineup — same engine, fewer comfort features. The Custom at $33,545 slots in between and adds 18-inch black wheels plus blacked-out badges if you want sharper looks without the LT tech kit. Off-road shoppers should look at the Trail Boss at $40,500 (2-inch lift, 32-inch tires, auto-locking rear diff). If budget is less of a concern, the Z71 at $44,600 pairs off-road hardware with a premium cabin. The ZR2 at $50,700 is the factory rock crawler. Compare all six trims ›
Is the 2.7L TurboMax engine enough, or should I wait for a V6 or hybrid?
The 2.7L TurboMax is absolutely enough for a midsize truck. 310 HP and 430 lb-ft of torque makes it the torque leader in the class — more torque than the Toyota Tacoma's base 2.4L (243 lb-ft), more than the Ford Ranger's base 2.3L EcoBoost (310 lb-ft), and more than most V6 competitors from any era. It tows 7,700 lbs properly equipped and still returns 21 MPG combined in 2WD. No V6 or hybrid option is offered or announced — the TurboMax is it, and it's a strong engine. See full engine specs ›
What kind of fuel economy does the 2026 Colorado get?
EPA-rated 19 city / 24 highway / 21 combined MPG on 2WD WT and LT. 4WD WT and LT drop to 17/22/19 combined. The Trail Boss is 17/20/18 and the ZR2 is rated a flat 17/17/17 — the mud-terrain tires and 3-inch lift hurt highway efficiency. The 2.7L TurboMax runs on regular 87-octane unleaded — no premium required. Real-world numbers vary based on load, terrain, and driving style.
Should I get the 2WD or 4WD Colorado?
Only the WT and LT are offered in 2WD; Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 are 4WD only. Choose 2WD if you live somewhere with mild winters, mostly drive on paved roads, and want the best fuel economy (21 MPG combined vs 19 for 4WD). Choose 4WD if you live on the Cape where winter weather matters, tow regularly (4WD improves launch stability), need to access a boat ramp or dirt road, or just want the added peace of mind for icy mornings. 4WD adds roughly $3,000–$3,300 to the WT and LT. Beyond WT and LT, your choice is made for you — every higher trim is 4WD standard.
How much can the 2026 Colorado tow and haul?
Properly equipped with the Advanced Trailering Package, the Colorado tows up to 7,700 lbs. Max payload is 1,710 lbs on WT and LT 2WD — varies by trim and drivetrain down to 1,570 on Trail Boss. The bed is 5 feet long at the floor (61.7 inches), 44.4 inches between the wheelhouses, 20.9 inches deep on the sides, with 41.9 cubic feet of total volume. Standard CornerStep rear bumper, 12 bed tie-downs, and an available EZ-Lift tailgate make loading easier. See real-world bed scenarios ›
What makes Marty's Chevrolet different?
We opened in 2016 with a simple idea: be a dealer for the people. No hidden fees, no pressure tactics, a team that actually listens. We're right on the Cape in Bourne at 420 MacArthur Blvd — no fighting traffic on Route 128 or I-93 to buy a truck. Hours: Mon-Thu 9-7, Fri 9-6, Sat 9-4. ASE-certified techs with full Chevrolet diagnostic equipment on site. We're a small business ourselves and understand that trust is earned, not assumed.
What safety features come standard on every 2026 Colorado?
Every 2026 Colorado comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist: Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian Braking, and IntelliBeam auto high beams. Also standard for 2026: Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Park Assist, and HD Rear Vision Camera, StabiliTrak, Teen Driver, Rear Seat Reminder, and OnStar Safety and Security. LT and higher can add Blind Zone Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, HD Surround Vision, and Rear Pedestrian Alert.
What tech features does the 2026 Chevy Colorado have?
Colorado's tech stack is generous across the lineup. Standard on every trim: 11.3-inch center touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 11-inch digital Driver Information Center (best-in-segment at that size), Chevy Safety Assist driver aids, HD Rear Vision Camera, and 8 years of OnStar services. Available features include wireless phone charging, in-vehicle Trailering app with hitch guidance, up to 10 camera views, HD Surround Vision, available underbody cameras for off-road spotting (ZR2), a 120-volt power outlet in the bed, and over-the-air software updates. Note: the Colorado does not currently offer Super Cruise — that remains a Silverado/Tahoe/Suburban feature.
What's new on the 2026 Colorado?
For 2026, Chevy standardized the entire lineup on the high-output 2.7L TurboMax engine (310 HP / 430 lb-ft) — the lower-output L2R Turbo was dropped. Pricing is only slightly up from 2025 despite industry-wide cost pressures. The ZR2 continues as the class benchmark for off-road capability, and the full suite of standard safety features (Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Park Assist, HD Rear Vision Camera) rolled out across every trim.
Can I order a Colorado built to my exact specs?
Yes. We keep a healthy Colorado selection in stock across trims and configurations. If we don't have the exact combination you want, we can locate one from another dealer or place a factory order to your specs. Factory orders take 8-12 weeks but you get the truck built exactly the way you want. Lock in current incentives on order date. Call 508-417-8675 or stop by and we will figure out the best path.
What's the difference between the 2025 and 2026 Chevy Colorado?
Very little — 2026 is effectively a carryover year. The lineup, engine (2.7L TurboMax / 310 HP / 430 lb-ft), bed configuration (single 5-foot), transmission (8-speed automatic), and capability numbers (7,700 lbs tow, 1,710 lbs payload) are all unchanged. The visible updates for 2026 are cosmetic: White Sands replaces Harvest Bronze Metallic in the color palette, and two of the 20-inch wheel designs got mild refreshes. If you're cross-shopping a leftover 2025, you're not missing anything substantial by saving on the older model year — or paying any price difference to get the 2026.
How fast is the 2026 Chevy Colorado 0-60?
Independent tests put the 2026 Colorado at roughly 7.5 seconds 0-60 mph with the 2.7L TurboMax — quicker than the base Toyota Tacoma (about 8.2 seconds) and within a few tenths of the Ford Ranger. The ZR2, despite its aggressive tires, holds a similar time thanks to 430 lb-ft of torque on tap. Not quite sports-car quick, but quicker than most buyers expect from a 4-cylinder truck engine.
How does the Chevy Colorado compare to the GMC Canyon?
Colorado and Canyon are mechanical twins — same 31XX platform, same 2.7L TurboMax, same 8-speed automatic, same 5-foot bed, same factory (Wentzville, Missouri). The differences are cosmetic and in trim positioning: the Canyon is marketed as the more upscale of the two, with its AT4 and AT4X trims roughly analogous to the Colorado Trail Boss and ZR2 but with more chrome and a more premium-leaning interior. Prices tend to run $1,500–$3,000 higher trim-for-trim on the Canyon. The Colorado is also the higher-volume seller, which often means better incentive availability.
What's the ground clearance on the 2026 Colorado?
Ground clearance varies by trim. WT and LT: 7.9 inches. Z71: ~8.9 inches. Trail Boss: 9.5 inches (2-inch factory lift). ZR2: 10.7 inches (3-inch factory lift and 33-inch mud-terrains). The ZR2 also has a 38.3-degree approach angle and comes with a high-clearance front bumper from the factory — Chevy made the ZR2 trail-ready without needing aftermarket hardware.
Is the Chevy Colorado made in the USA?
Yes. Every 2026 Colorado is assembled at GM's Wentzville Assembly plant in Wentzville, Missouri — the same facility that has built every third-generation Colorado since the platform launched in 2023. The 2.7L TurboMax engine is also GM-built in North America. Buying a Colorado means supporting American manufacturing jobs and a plant that has received hundreds of millions of dollars in recent capital investment.
Can I get pre-approved for financing before I visit?
Absolutely. Apply for credit before you step foot on the lot. Pre-approval gives you a realistic picture of what you can afford and speeds up the process when you visit. Our finance team works with multiple banks and lenders so they shop the deal for you to find the best rate. Whether you want to purchase or lease, having financing sorted before you arrive puts you in a stronger position.
